CMKC, Radio Revolucion, Santiago de Cuba.- Lazaro Exposito, President of the Provincial Defense Council and Beatriz Johnson, the vice-president visited the Agroforestry Experimental Station in the Tercer Frente municipality, where they inquired about the usefulness of earth worms.
The station raises larvae for biological control of certain plagues for crops such as sugar cane, coffee, green vegetables and produce.
Such organisms are very efficient in the elimination of plagues and harmless for human beings when handling them. The facility belongs to the Agroforestry Research Institute (INAF in Spanish). During the visit of the top provincial authorities, they talked with the members of the scientific council of the Local Sugar Cane Station Research who were in session at the moment.
The session is part of the exchange and cooperation between related research facilities and the visitors commended their efforts to meet the call of the Revolution to the scientific community: to think as a country.
